virtual event re-brand and strategy

RPU Print Ad.jpg

Each year, the Research Chefs Association hosts the RCA Conference, a 3 day in-person event of the best networking and education in the food science industry. With April’s 2020 event cancelled on short notice due to COVID-19, I helped pivot the event’s marketing strategy and communication plan to a fully virtual, six-week event we branded:
RCA Powered Up.

I co-lead the new marketing strategy and executed content that included a re-branded microsite, weekly emails notifying both non-registered and registered attendees of the upcoming weeks’ sessions and networking opportunities, and #TakeOutWithRCA for social interaction and support of struggling restaurants.

The final session concluded with celebrity chef and veteran, Chef Andre Rush, hosting a discussion that was open to the public by connecting Zoom to RCA’s Facebook Live.

With this new format, RCA Powered Up’s registration was 120% to budget, and total revenue was 140% to budget.

weekly agenda content

The open rate on my weekly agenda communications averaged 48%, which is nearly double the Emma Email Marketing community average.

MICROSITE RE-VAMP

As the in-person RCA Conference San Diego theme, networking and volunteer opportunities were no longer applicable, I lead a website audit where we re-structured the microsite to include the fully virtual theme that centered around the education sessions and learning opportunities at RCA Powered Up.

LONG-FORM PIECES and content management

I write numerous pieces for the Human Resource Management Association of Chicago’s online publication, HR Leader.

I additionally manage and update the website using DNN Software, create the monthly newsletter for HR professionals, and co-lead the content publishing plan and author submissions.

Peter Cappelli and the Agile Revolution

As we approach SUMMIT 2019, we are reminded of last year's opening keynote by Peter Cappelli, director of The Wharton Center for Human Resources at the Wharton School. In his presentation, Cappelli discussed why agile is not just for tech anymore and how it is transforming how organizations hire, develop and manage people.

Announcing The Third Annual Local Yarn Store Day

Greetings!

Join us Saturday April 25, 2020 for the third annual Local Yarn Store Day! (LYS Day). LYS Day is a TNNA program designed to drive traffic to local yarn stores. This program allows our vendor partners to show their support for brick-and-mortar stores by creating one-of-a-kind products and programs just for participating local shops. LYS Day has promoted thousands of 'yarnies' from across the US and Canada to go to their local shop to see the exclusive, unique products created specifically for LYS Day. Think of it as a nationwide Yarn Crawl!

Retailers can use this day to generate excitement in the store and show their value to their local customer base. This program is only open to members of TNNA, making it one of the many benefits of being a member of our trade organization.
Show your support for TNNA Member local yarn stores by creating unique products designed to be offered only through brick-and-mortar shops. If you're a yarn vendor or designer, here are some ideas to get started:

  • Create a unique color exclusive to Local Yarn Store Day.
  • Create a design just for Local Yarn Store Day that will only be available through brick-and-mortar stores.
  • Design exclusive kits, accessories, colors, and more!

The only thing we ask is that your item is sold through TNNA members that are local yarn shops, and they are not sold online to consumers before January 1, 2021. The key to this promotion is to make this item exclusive and limited, that's what drives the excitement!
Make sure to follow the hashtag #LYSDay to explore latest activities and new updates! If you have any questions, please email TNNA at info@tnna.org.

Want to be listed on the website? Visit localyarnstoreday.com for more information how you can be listed as a participating store or a supporting vendor.
